We start a brand new series in our journey through the Old Testament: Breakout. In this series, we will see Jacob breakout physically and spiritually. In today's message, Pastor Ben finishes Genesis 30 and 31. We see Jacob begin to not just think of himself, but his family also. Jacob, who has been working for Laban for 20 years, finally builds up the courage to leave and lead his family of four wives and twelve kids. We also see God speak to Jacob for the first time in 20 years and see God speak to Laban.  However, despite his conversation with God, Laban never changed.

Jacob's life continues to spiral as we will see his wives, Rachel and Leah, fight for his love and affection. Rachel and Leah's sibling rivalry will result in Jacob marrying their maids and Jacob fathering 13 kids. 
In this message, we will the importance of going to God with our mess and how God can take the mess of Jacob's family, and yours, and turn it into a legacy.

As our five year journey through the Old Testament continues, Pastor Ben York finishes Chapter 28 and begins Genesis 29. We find Jacob on the run from his brother Esau to Haran. In Haran, he meets his Uncle Laban, a conniver and trickster in his own right, and Laban's two daughters, Rachel and Leah. In this crazy story, Jacob works 14 years for Laban and ends up marrying both of Laban's daughters. 
In this message, we will see the beginning of Jacob's walk with God and God's discipline of Jacob. We will also see why God disciplines us as believers and how we should approach dating in the Christian life.

Isaac prays to God for 20 years before his wife, Rebekah, gives birth to a set of twins, Jacob and Esau. Genesis 25:19-34 tells us that those twins fought each other in her womb and the descendants of Jacob and Esau still fight each other to this day. We also see the importance of prayer and the danger of favoritism in the family.
